Where "Art" Thou

I support Brad Howard’s letter to the Sheridan Press, August 9th. Mr. Howard objects, to the, “car parts” on the corner of Main & Dow. This “art” was selected by the Sheridan Public Arts Committee (SPAC) to occupy this corner.

In July, SPAC placed, the “Stacking Frogs” on the sidewalk, at Burkitt & Brooks, this statute was removed by order of the County. This art was placed in front of the, $3.2 Million Dollar, Greenspace.

The Stacking Frogs are now in the City’s storage. The pedestal will be re-coated before this art finds an new location.

The Frogs are a bronzed art work, with height, weight, and presence.

I would suggest the Frogs, be placed, at Main & Dow, next to the creek. The plastic car parts, which sits on the ground, not on a pedestal, be placed on the sidewalk at the Burkitt & Brooks intersection in front of the Greenspace.

The artist of the “car parts” will be in Sheridan, in October to speak of her message about this art. Burkitt & Brooks is a busy intersection and a stack car parts would be a reminder to drive smart. The Frogs should be next to the creek at Main & Dow.
