It's Not What You Know, It's Who You Know.

The BOCC has interviewed three people for one open position on the Sheridan Memorial Hospital Board of Trustees.

The first to be interviewed was Carol Gregory. Carol Gregory retired in 2017, as the Division Chief Nursing officer in Dallas - Fort Worth. She emphasized the experience at Memorial Hospital should be “top-notch”

The second to be interviewed was Rob Johnson, He stated that Cody Sinclair, the hospital Chief Development Officer is his mentor, and he has talked with Mike McCafferty, the Hospital Administrator. He did not relate, if he had professional experience in the medical field. Mr. Johnson is a financial advisor with Elevate Financial Services in Sheridan, WY.

The final interview was with Dr. Fred Lounsbury. Dr. Lounsbury is a internal medicine provider. He said medicine should not be, “corporatized”. The reality is, Sheridan is a small community, and the hospital engagement, should be dedicated to the community members.

Both Carol Gregory and Dr. Lounsbury are addressing a reality.

I would reflect, the Memorial Hospital almost lost it’s sole-provider standing, and over one million a year, of Federal support, when it tried to partner with, Cancer Treatment Center of America. It was a “corporatized” effort. Further, 350 people were injured, and sued Memorial Hospital, for a failure to autoclave catheters. This resulted in these people becoming ill. This was not a example of “top-notch” care.

Finally, Rob Johnson had a letter published in the Sheridan Press. Saturday June 7th, 2025. The letter expressed his endorsement of the GPET tax and his depiction of Commissioner Jennings as having, “dangerously mischaracterize” the GPET, referring to her remark, that the GPET is a “enforced charity”. Mr. Johnson, with his support of the GPET, is both pandering to the BOCC, while singling out for criticism, Commissioner Jennings. He is entitled to his opinion. He supports the GPET, but will it get him an appointment to the Hospital Board of Trustees?

Thank you,
