The county political hunting season has closed.
I would like to comment on two hunting PACs that geared up for the 2024 hunt. The first PAC is "Invest in Sheridan County PAC", the Chairman is Amy Albrecht, from Center for a Vital Community, the Treasurer is Gail Symons, a Chamber of Commerce Ambassador.
The "Invest PAC" mailed, to the voters, a "Vote FOR the Cap Tax". This PAC's postcard cost $6,996.47 to print and mail.
The second PAC of the hunting session was "Committee For Better Sheridan County Leadership". The PAC's Chairman and Treasurer is City Councilmen Terry Weitzel. This "Weitzel PAC" has more contributors then the "Invest PAC" and there are many recognizable contributors to the "Weitzel PAC". Among those who contributed to the PAC are Gail Symons, Nick Siddle, Lonnie Wright, Steve Maier, Steve Brantz, John Heyneman, Dave Kinskey, Alex Lee, Anthony Wendtland, Mark & Tibbie Kinner, Michael Evers, Jane Clark, Kevin Kessner, Cyrus Western, Beverly Leichtman, Bob Rolston, H. W. Rasmussen, Robert Wyatt, and Richard Scott. The "better" PAC contributed, $1,200, to the vote for the Cap Tax PAC. To date both PACs are still active. Clearly, electeds, have contributed to both PACs. Some of these contributors are on the BOCC or on City Council, as such, they cannot promote the cap tax; however, they can contribute money, for a PAC promotion.
The two PACs referenced above were prepared for the hunt. The PACs laundered the camouflage, they had plenty of provisions, and this was not the contributors' first hunt.
