Wyoming Secretary of State Chuck Gray, Sheridan BOCC & County Clerk, and Friends:
In the past, a request for the county's precinct voting districts shapefile was initiated. The request has, yet to be approved.
In reviewing the registered voter (RV) list for the State of Wyoming and Sheridan County; in order, to group the list, by county, precinct, and street name. I was baffled, by the realization that the last block at the end of N. Jefferson Street, was in a different precinct. Why, was, Heritage Towers in a different precinct than 2-2?
Was a decision made in the past, to disregard local neighborhoods, from consideration of precinct boundaries?
The population size, of precincts, in Sheridan County, differs, by orders of magnitude. Is it possible, that a few precincts, can effectively control city council and county commission by their population's size?
Are the Sheridan County Commissioners and Clerk willing to formally address this concern?
I have made a formal request for the county precinct voting districts boundaries shapefile, and county addresses shapefile?
Precinct voting district boundaries are a local media concern. Geo-spatial data makes it easier to visualize the precincts. The addresses dataset is for verifying RV addresses. This is the importance of this data.
I have CCed Electeds and staff from the Major Parties, County, Legislative, and State levels of government, and the local press, to promote an informed and robust discussion of this topic.
